Golden Reign Resources, Ltd. (TSX.V: GRR) is a Canadian mineral exploration company based in Vancouver, B.C. The Company has optioned the San Albino-Murra Gold Concession in north central Nicaragua from Nicoz Resources, S.A., the present title holder. The property includes one major concession with an area of 87 square kilometers (8,700 hectares) situated to the east of the small town of El Jicaro. The concession is valid for a period of 25 years.
The property contains numerous old workings including the historic San Albino Gold Mine and Aguja de Arras ("Arras") Gold Mine; as well as numerous other historical showings (Las Conchitas and El Mango).
Gold mineralization at the property is generally contained within quartz veins, hosted by a metasedimentary package (green schist metamorphic facies) dominated by graphic schist. The numerous old showings and string of small mines extend along a northward trend to the Murra area, but only the San Albino and Arras gold mines have been examined or worked in recent history. Many of the other workings are long abandoned, overgrown and need to be relocated and examined.
The largest country in Central America, Nicaragua continues to enjoy a stable democracy since the early 1990's, yet remains relatively under-explored while having the highest recorded gold production (20M ounces) in the region.
